Jordan 5-Day Itinerary
Plan a realistic five-day Jordan route covering Amman, Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea with private transportation.
A realistic five-day Jordan route
Five days in Jordan is enough to cover the country's three most iconic destinations: Petra, Wadi Rum, and the Dead Sea. You will not have time for everything — Jerash, Aqaba, the King's Highway, and the northern castles all deserve time — but the southern circuit is achievable at a realistic, unhurried pace.
The classic 5-day Jordan itinerary: Day 1 Amman, Day 2 Petra (via Desert Highway), Day 3 Petra to Wadi Rum transfer and desert arrival, Day 4 full Wadi Rum day, Day 5 Dead Sea and return to Amman. This is the most commonly recommended circuit for international visitors with 5 days and covers Jordan's three most iconic destinations.
The itinerary below is built around private transportation: hotel pickup at each stop, flexible departure times, and no shared buses or fixed group schedules.
Plan transportation for the route
A private driver is the most practical and comfortable way to travel this circuit. Public transport between Amman, Petra, and Wadi Rum is limited, unreliable, and requires connections that are difficult to plan around. A private driver gives you flexible departure times, hotel pickup at each stop, and a fixed price for the entire route.
If you have 7 days, the additional time allows a second Petra day, a Jerash visit, or a more relaxed experience throughout.
